Abstract
This study aims to examine how the methods of hadith memorization and comprehension are implemented in an integrated manner, as well as to assess their effectiveness in enhancing students' religious competence and character development. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as classroom observation and in- depth interviews with teachers of the Hadith subject. The findings of this study indicate that the memorization method is effective in training students’ memory and fostering consistent worship habits, while the comprehension method helps students internalize the values contained in the hadith in a more contextual and meaningful way. However, several challenges were identified, particularly among students who were able to memorize but struggled to understand the deeper meaning of the texts. Therefore, an integrated learning strategy is needed one that balances memorization with comprehension upported by ongoing teacher training and the use of relevant, engaging learning media. This study contributes to the development of more effective and applicable Islamic education methods at the elementary level, particularly within the environment of Madrasah Diniyah.
Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana metode tersebut diimplementasikan secara terpadu, serta menilai efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan kompetensi keagamaan dan pembentukan karakter siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi kegiatan belajar-mengajar, dan wawancara mendalam terhadap guru pengampu mata pelajaran Hadits. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode hafalan hadits efektif dalam melatih daya ingat dan membentuk kebiasaan ibadah secara berkelanjutan, sementara metode pemahaman membantu siswa menginternalisasi nilai- nilai hadits secara lebih kontekstual. Namun, tantangan masih ditemukan, terutama pada siswa yang hanya mampu menghafal tanpa memahami makna secara mendalam. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan strategi pembelajaran terpadu yang menyeimbangkan antara hafalan dan pemahaman, dengan dukungan pelatihan guru dan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang relevan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan metode pendidikan islam yang lebih efektif dan aplikatif di jenjang pendidikan dasar, khusunya di lingkungan Madrasah Diniyah.
